Discover this astonishing archipelago, journeying through the breathtaking mountain region to visit the remarkable Banaue rice terraces, learn about ancient Ifugao history, meet the native tribes and see the Sagada burial caves before arriving in the Philippines summer capital, Baguio City, home to impressive architecture and an invigorating mountain climate.

Your Itinerary

Manila: 1 night, Banaue: 2 nights
Mount Data: 1 night, Baguio City: 1 night
Boracay 5 nights

DAY 1 Fly Cathay Pacific overnight from Heathrow via Hong Kong arriving the following day in Manila, capital city of the Philippines, staying overnight at the Bayview Park
with the day at leisure in Manila.

DAY 3 After breakfast meet with your tour guide before departing by road to Banaue (10 hours) arriving late afternoon and checking in to the Banaue Hotel in a
Deluxe room for two nights.

DAY 4 After breakfast take a local jeepney (pick-up truck) to the small rice terrace village of Banga-an, leaving the jeep for a short hike beyond the main road. Whilst the village is tiny - just a small cluster of huts on stilts - the community is jam-packed and thriving. After spending some time in the village, take the opportunity to go to the look out point for incredible views of the 2000 year old stepped rice terraces, known by locals as the ‘Eight Wonder of the World.’ Carved by ancestors of the indigenous Ifugao people, if placed end to end, the Banaue rice terraces would reach halfway around the world. Later, visit the market to interact with the locals and shop for handicrafts. If time permits, there will be another village visit before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.

DAY 5 Drive north along the mountain trail to Bontoc (3 hours) and visit the Bontoc Museum, home to a collection of artefacts and photos of the Ifugao people, natives to the rice terraces of the Philippines. The Museum is designed in the style of a typical Ifugao house and contains archaeological objects excavated from the cordillera caves. There are also imitation Ifugao houses that visitors can go inside to view and there is time to learn about the unique customs and rituals of the tribe. If the weather permits, also visit the Ifugao burial caves in Sagada and spend some time with the natives. Continue on the narrow road to Mount Data Lodge (approx. 2 ½ hours) perched on top of the mountain at an altitude of 2,200 metres. Stay at this warm and friendly mountain retreat overnight in a Standard room.

DAY 6 Fly from Manila to Boracay and spend five nights at the Boracay Tropics hotel in a Superior room on RB.

DAY 11 h Fly from Boracay with Philippine Airlines to Manila and onwards to Heathrow with Cathay Pacific arriving the next day.
