Philippines E-Newsletter - November 2010

The Philippines promotional campaign comes to a head this month after a highly successful year for Tourism Promotions. This follows immediately after the DIVE Birmingham Show where interest of Philippine dive sites and packages were at an all time high. This was evident by testimonials from numerous return visitors and full audiences during the captivating two-day seminars by Andrew Laughlin of Abyssworld about Dive Safaris in the country.

First up the PDOT London will be bringing the best of the country's attractions and products to the travel trade at the all important World Travel Market in Excel on 8-11 of November.

Concurrently, the Philippines will be organizing its first-ever Philippines Tourism Investment Forum. The event will showcase the country as a prime investment destination for tourism and hospitality related projects. The event will bring together leading developers in the Philippines with investment houses, major banks, and institutional investors fostering partnerships and future ventures.

These sustained promotional efforts and organization of innovative programs points to an exciting upward trend of tourism arrivals to the country. From January to July this year, visitors from the United Kingdom posted an amazing 11.1 percent growth rate which will hopefully see total arrivals surpass the 100,000- mark for the year, truly an impressive milestone for the country.
