See for yourself why ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ at World Travel Market 2014 Philippines Department of Tourism host mammoth celebrations at WTM

Proving that it really is more fun in the Philippines, the Philippines Department

of Tourism (DOT) has organised what is set to be one of the most epic celebrations World Travel Market (WTM) has
ever seen. As the 2014 Regional Hosts of WTM’s Asia Hall; the Philippines Department of Tourism will be hosting
three hours of celebration and thanksgiving on their stand (AS650) on Wednesday 5th November from 5pm.

The extravaganza will fuse traditional Philippine dance troupes and drummers with an eclectic mix of urban dance
acts, musicians and beatboxers; showcasing how the old and the new can be found perfectly intertwined in the
Philippines. A true taste of the Philippines will also be experienced, with archetypal food and drinks served from
5pm. During the evening the Tourism Promotions Board COO, Domingo Ramon “Chicoy” Enerio III will celebrate the
country’s current successes as well as officially announce the international launch of "Visit The Philippines Year
2015" and what this will entail. The event will also pay homage to the high profile individuals and organisations who
supported the Philippines during last year’s Typhoon Haiyan. With celebrity messages, music, food and dance there
is something for everyone to experience and enjoy this Wednesday.

The festival and promotional activity around WTM complements the targeted year‐round promotions the Philippines
Department of Tourism is continuing to invest in, as the Philippines drives to boost its leisure tourism. The country is
one of Asia’s most rapidly developing destinations and the ambitious targets to stamp passports of 10 million visitors
to the Philippines in 2015 has prompted this tourism focus. With a number of projects and festivals in planning that
will reinforce the Philippine’s growing status as the most ‘fun’ destination in Asia, the island country is also able to
offer year round arts, culture, entertainment and adventure for both new and returning visitors looking for
unforgettable experiences.
