Friends Philippines

Friends Philippines is already planning this year's special Friends Tour, which is turning out to be an annual event each year in November since it was first conceived in 2007. This year, the tour will be as promising and memorable as ever as we feature some of the Philippines??? finest and untarnished tropical destinations.

The Friends Philippines tour will first cover the major cultural attractions of Manila and the surrounding environs before proceeding to the islands of Cebu and Bohol. Afterwards, participants will have the option of choosing one of the most exclusive paradise tour offerings such as the Ananyana & Eskaya Beach Resorts and Spa in Bohol; Fridays in Boracay; Amanpulo in Palawan or Pearl Farm in Davao. Accommodations in these resorts are all rated first-class and so the indulgence begins as soon as you arrive. Other tours and special activities are all lined up as well to give you the optimum experience in Philippine sights, sounds, culture and history during the trip.

Please consider whether you could take part in this exciting trip and feel free to spread among your friends and associates the exceptional attractions of the Philippines and the warmth and colour of its people.

Dive Philippines

This year's London International Dive Show (LIDS) got off to a blistering start as the halls at ExCeL were busy from the moment the doors opened.

The Philippines booth was clearly visible from afar and proved to be the biggest destination crowd drawer in the whole event. The stand was centrally located in the main hub complimented by spectacular designs with graphics hanging from the rafters. As Asia???s diving capital- thanks to the 7,107 archipelago, the burgeoning interest in diving in the country grew even more this time round from the UK diver enthusiasts. Predictably, most of the dedicated divers visiting the booth have already been to the country and have now either pre-booked their next dive holiday to the Philippines or are in the planning stages for their trip within the next year or so.

The event was capped by a hugely popular fiesta celebration complete with delicious Filipino fare as well as San Miguel Beers and Tanduay Rum while music was provided by 2 Elvis-style impersonators. Many were drawn to look back and recounted the days they were last in the Philippines. Whispers from the crowd were very much noted that this reminded them of their experiences in the country that aside from the great diving, they certainly enjoyed the partying that happened at the end of each dive in their resort.

Post-ITB Scandinavian Sales Mission

The Post-ITB Scandinavian Sales Mission which featured the world renowned Bayanihan- the Philippine National Folk Dance Company was a massive success across the cities of Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen on 09-17 March 2008.

The Bayanihan's performances in several prestigious venues including the OsloKonserthus in Norway, the Nybrokajen Concert Hall in Stockholm (each drawing crowds of over a thousand), the Bella Centre in Copenhagen and even appearing on the Swedish national television TV4's morning show Nyhetsmorgon were all dazzling and awe-inspiring.

Meanwhile, the multiple travel marts/ sales mission and TUR Gothenburg proved to be a financial success for participating Philippine-based travel specialists due to the invaluable business partnerships established along with the numerous on-the-spot bookings.

Moalboal, Cebu

Located 89 kilometres southwest of Cebu City, Moalboal is blessed with short stretches of white sandy beaches, warm crystal clear waters, excellent visibility, steep reef walls or gently slopping bottoms teeming with innumerable species of fish making the area a diver's heaven all year round.

With 450 different species, the abundance of soft and hard coral is probably the most diverse in the world, housing all sorts of strange and bizzare macro life ideal for underwater photography.

Divers are truly spoilt for choice in exploration possibilities between a sunken aeroplane at one site, an intricate cave system at another and even interacting with Whale Sharks that migrate through the straits of Cebu during February to May.
